Came across this site after watching Stephen Fry's documentary the secret life of a manic depressive and searching for more info on bipolar and have found it extremely helpful on a personal level. Have just come off 2 years of SSRIs and now dealing with the unleashed hyper-irritable being and the black dog fighting it out for control. Would be so ez to sign up for the meds again and just stay locked in the middle ground, just like everyone else, safe in the cocoon, but really want to try and see if I can work it thru, not convinced yet. Thanks to Alex, all the other interviewees and the video project for making me feel less para-normal :) So refreshing and cathartic to hear open discussion about this chemical imbalance, it's so hard to break thru the social stigma, I haven't managed to yet and am afraid every day of the potential of what lies within to throw my life, work, relationships and very existence into disarray. Keep up the good work, would love to volunteer, but can't even share it with my closest friends.
